Yuletide Letter 2022

Dear Yuletide writer,

Thank you for writing for me! I'm making this letter to outline some of my favorite fic things in case you are looking for ideas. As a general rule of thumb, though, I'll be very happy with anything as long as it involves the requested character and avoids my DNWs. Feel free to be as canon compliant or AU as you want — I love both styles and everything in between. Any rating is also fine. 

DNWs: Incest, bestiality, child/adult pairings, tooth torture/removal, high school AU, emetophilia, scat
 

ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND [ Anastasia ] 

Any work relating to Anastasia — solo or relationship — is very welcome! I am particularly interested in her dynamic with Jafar, Will and Alice, but I’ll happily read anything Ana centric. I have no fandom specific DNWs for her.

Canon prompts:
- Any sort of pre-canon, post-canon, missing scene fics in general are most welcome! 
- I'd love to get a closer look at her marriage with the Red King. There's a lot of room for interpretation here -- obviously they didn't marry for love, but was there respect, understanding, etc? Or did they end up not getting along at all? Or, did some sort of love grow between them, even if it ultimately did them no favors? At what point did she kill him (I mean... if she did, but I think she did), why, how involved was Cora? 
- More on the fears Jabberwocky dug up -- where they came from, how they influence her, etc. Or just a deeper look at that torture scene. 
- A fic about how Alice and Anastasia met -- the show kept vaguely and offhandedly mentioning it but I would have liked to see it!
- The same thing goes for Will and Jafar, actually. The show kinda dropped us in the middle of all Ana's relationships, and I'd love to see beginning/earlier stages. 
- Ana exploring Wonderland & having adventures/misadventures would be cool. I greatly welcome any Wonderland worldbuilding.
 

AU prompts:
- Role reversal AUs for shows like OUATIW are so much fun. I’d be particularly interested in seeing Ana’s Knave of Hearts to Will’s Red King, but I would be very happy with any other swap you want to do. I’ve also thought it could be interesting to have them swap roles with the lead character from their fairytale – meaning Ana with Cinderella (or Alice), Will with Robin Hood (or Alice), Jafar and/or Cyrus with Aladdin and/or Jasmine…
- “What if” scenarios. I like to imagine what would have happened if something in the story had happened differently. Like, what if Ana and Will had gone to another realm instead of Wonderland? What if Ana had succeeded in changing the past? What if the heroes couldn’t defeat Jafar, or it took them longer/more work?
- Honestly any type of fun AU – supernatural, time travel, parallel worlds, assassins…
- AUs where Ana has another love interest. Any way you want to spin it – maybe Will doesn’t exist or they were never a couple, maybe she just got over him, maybe he’s still in the picture in some way. I’m good with her LI being nearly anyone in the series – just not the Tweedles, animal characters, or anyone underage.
- I’m also 100% down with Ana and Will being polyamorous. I’m particularly fond of “Ana x Will x Jefferson,” but I’d read anything, including an “Ana x Will x OC” ship.
- Hyperion Heights AU (or Storybrooke AU) – some sort of combination of modern curses and OUATIW would be interesting! Ana joining the Belfrey family and/or replacing s7!Anastasia in the narrative, perhaps?

THE ALICE NETWORK - KATE QUINN [ Eve ]

I signed up with Eve because she was my favorite, but the more I've thought about it, any of the nominated characters (Eve, Rene, Lili & Violette) — and/or the relationships between these characters — is fine with me! I love all four characters on their own, I love Lili and her relationships with her girls, I love Eve and Rene's twisted 'lovers' to enemies plotline, I love whatever Violette and Eve had, I would even be interested in seeing Rene encounter Violette or Lili. I do ship Lili/Violette romantically so I'd welcome that if you want to include it, and I could definitely get into Violette/Eve as well. However, the relationship of Lili & Eve felt more platonic/sisterly to me so I would prefer they not be written romantic. 

My one fandom-specific DNW for this is please don't make Charlie and/or Finn centric characters. I have nothing against them, I'm just not particularly interested in them. 

Canon prompts:
- More on Eve & Rene's relationship - one thinking of the other post-finger torture, Eve plotting her revenge, Rene coming to grips with none of it being real, etc..
- Anything of the Eve/Lili/Violette trio. Just vibing, on a mission, anything.

AU prompts:
- Honestly, I didn't like the reveal/twist that Eve didn't actually tell Rene anything. It felt too clean. I would rather a story about her gradually healing/accepting what happened and making peace with it. Maybe she forgives herself and realizes it still wasn't her fault (as she was literally drugged and tortured for the information), maybe not. 
- Modern day spies AU
- Apocalypse AU
- Lili survives somehow. Maybe she faked her own death somehow? Does Violette know? Does Eve? Or is it a total surprise to them - if they ever even find out? What's she like in the WWII storyline?
- Any AU where Lili and Violette and Eve (or any duo combination) are in competition with each other (in any intensity). Do they rebel and team up because they realize they actually like each other? Or maybe they stay rivals. 
- AU where the trio goes undercover together - instead of just reporting back to each other. 
 

 ALICE IN BORDERLAND [ Mira ]

I'm very interested in Mira's character, and her relationships with other Borderland characters. In particular, I love her interactions with Arisu and Kuzuryu, and I'd welcome seeing her dynamic with other characters we didn't see her interact with as much.

My fandom-specific DNW is romantic shipping for Mira specifically, because I headcanon her as aro/ace. If you want to include/mention romantic pairings of other characters (like, Arisu/Usagi, An/Kuina, for example) that's perfectly fine. Just no romance with Mira. 

Canon prompts:
- Her journey towards citizenship in the Borderlands.
- What's her relationship like with the other Borderland citizens we didn't see her interact with? Does she like the Knave of Hearts, or not so much? What about the King of Spades, or Clubs? I'd also interested in her relationships with citizens we didn't see in canon, like the Queen of Diamonds or the King of Hearts. 
- I'd love to see more of her relationship with Kuzuryu, since what we saw was so brief. Do they talk at all while they're undercover at the Beach? What about before that? 
- More on her relationship with Arisu. They have my favorite dynamic in the Borderlands, and I'd love to see more of it. Croquet game, pre-croquet game, at the Beach before Arisu knew who she really was... anything. 

AU prompts: 
- I’d love a ‘Mira lives AU’. Don’t care how, and it doesn’t really have to make sense. But like, a post-canon hospital scene between Arisu and Mira where they don’t have memories but they do feel their weird connection? And/or they become best friends? Or patient/client, since Mira is a psychiatrist? Or maybe they do remember somehow? Or just Mira remembers?
- Another version of the ‘Mira lives’ AU, where Arisu chooses to stay in the Borderlands at the end and he and Mira end up in a sort of mentor/apprentice type of relationship.
- What if someone figured out she was a citizen before her reveal? Maybe one of the designated ‘smart characters’ — An or Chishiya, perhaps. Or maybe it’s Kuina, or even Hatter, who figures it out? Niragi would also be an interesting choice.
